This was a very interesting note that was passed on to me. If you were planning on your kids attending these schools and live outside of the catchment, you may need to make other arrangements. I believe this only pertains to children in the english program (please double check if your children are in French Immersion).<\/p>\n

Message from Jennifer Chan, Principal of York Mill C.I:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Dear families of Windfields and St. Andrews:<\/p>\n As you may know, the optional attendance status for schools across the TDSB is reviewed on an annual basis. Space availability is the main factor in determining the optional attendance status for each school, which is measured using the school\u2019s utilization rate and projected enrolment. York Mills CI is currently at 116% utilization, and as such, we have been informed that the optional attendance status for\u00a0York Mills CI will be\u00a0Closed<\/em>\u00a0for 2019-20.\u00a0\u00a0 This means that we will not be accepting Optional Attendance applications, as we have in previous years.\u00a0 Any new students wishing to attend York Mills in 2019-20 are required to reside within the York Mills CI attendance area.\u00a0 Please know that it is with sincere regret that we cannot accept students from outside this boundary for the 2019\/20 school year. Existing students at York Mills CI who reside outside of the school\u2019s attendance area will be allowed to remain at York Mills CI until graduation.<\/p>\n We have also been informed that Windfields will be closed to optional attendance for the 2019-20 year.
