Micheal Couteau has posed an update on the news about Don Valley East. I\u2019m VERY disappointed!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunate news that despite the objections from both myself at the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs (PROC), and from hundreds of local Don Valley East residents, the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario has chosen finalize their decision to eliminate Don Valley East as a riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not the outcome we wanted, but I am proud and humbled by the <\/a>outpouring of support and dedication of the residents of Don Valley East for our community. Since February, the message from Don Valley East was loud and clear, and I am confident we put forth the strongest objection possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is unfortunate that the lack of consultation, an issue that was brought up by many Members of Parliament and communities from across Canada was not given more consideration by the commission. Confidence in our democratic institutions is of the utmost important, and I hope that this is addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the biggest issue we have tackled together as a community in quite some time. Complete strangers came together to fight for our community. It shows the strong and caring nature of Don Valley East, and I am incredibly proud of what we built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone in the community. I am humbled by all the support that I\u2019ve been shown over the past 5 months. It was and continues to be the support of our community that has driven me through this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m looking forward to continue serving our community as your Member of Parliament. My office and I are available to anyone having any questions or need help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
