I&#8217;m on my way home from hospital with a broken wrist (in 2 spots!) after a lively tennis game yesterday. I found myself wondering what&#8217;s open so here it is, courtesy of CP24. Feel free to add more in the comments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shopping malls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most major shopping malls will be closed on Labour Day. However, there are a few centres that will remain open on the holiday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shops.cadillacfairview.com\/property\/cf-toronto-eaton-centre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toronto Eaton Centre<\/a>, 220 Yonge St., from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.premiumoutlets.com\/outlet\/toronto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toronto Premium Outlets<\/a>, 13850 Steeles Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vaughanmills.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vaughan Mills<\/a>, 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shops.cadillacfairview.com\/property\/cf-markville\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CF Markville<\/a>, 5000 Highway 7 East, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorkvillevillage.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yorkville Village<\/a>, 55 Avenue Rd., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/shopsquareone.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Square One<\/a>, 100 City Centre Dr., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tourist attractions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for one final thing to do with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/montreal\/article\/is-your-family-ready-for-back-to-school-a-few-tips-to-mentally-prepare-your-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kids before they head back to school<\/a>, many tourist attractions will be open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cntower.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CN Tower<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ripleys.com\/attractions\/ripleys-aquarium-of-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ripley\u2019s Aquarium<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhof.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hockey Hall of Fame<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/casaloma.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Casa Loma<\/a>&nbsp;and both the Toronto and High Park zoos will be open Sept. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/riverdalefarmtoronto.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Riverdale Farm<\/a>&nbsp;will also be open for the day, as well as the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/explore-enjoy\/parks-recreation\/places-spaces\/beaches-gardens-attractions\/gardens-and-horticulture\/conservatories\/allan-gardens-conservatory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Allan Gardens<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/explore-enjoy\/parks-recreation\/places-spaces\/parks-and-recreation-facilities\/location\/?id=798&amp;title=Centennial-Park---Etobicoke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centennial Park<\/a>&nbsp;conservatories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canadaswonderland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canada\u2019s Wonderland<\/a>&nbsp;is open for regular hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Labour Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rom.on.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Ontario Museum<\/a>&nbsp;will be operational on Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ago.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Art Gallery of Ontario<\/a>&nbsp;will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cineplex theatres will also be open with varying hours and showtimes. On Aug.30-31, Cineplex is also offering&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cineplex.com\/promos\/5-weekend\">$5 admission&nbsp;<\/a>to cap off the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CNE will be capping off its 2025 run with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theex.com\/attractions\/airshow\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=exhibits&amp;utm_term=cne%20airshow&amp;utm_content=ResponsiveSearchAd&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=17826844237&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxrfHxpSwjwMVl13_AR0PNS9DEAAYASAAEgINffD_BwE\">Canadian International Air Show<\/a>&nbsp;Aug. 30-Sept.1. The show will run from 12 p.m. &#8211; 3:40 p.m. each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grocery stores<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most major grocery chains will be closed on Labour Day. However, there are a few places that will remain open on the holiday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Loblaws, 301 High Tech Rd., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loblaws, 200 Bullock Dr., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fortinos, 3940 Hwy. 7 RR 2, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fortinos, 2911 Major Mackenzie Dr., from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metro, 444 Yonge St., from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FreshCo, 800 Steeles Ave W., from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FreshCo, 9580 McCowan Rd. N, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whole Foods,\u00a087 Avenue Rd., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Walmarts will be open<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Shopper\u2019s Drug Mart locations will be open with special hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Liquor stores<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All LCBO locations will be closed on Labour Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Beer Store says 82 stores across the province will be open. Thirty-one of those will be in the GTA. A complete list with exact locations can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/assets.ctfassets.net\/wyfly6ekgxs8\/5gB9xpZQyY4YklyM9CofmD\/f4b17959aa3dc290137224fbab90d984\/The_Beer_Store_Labour_Day_Hours_2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select Wine Rack stores in Toronto&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.winerack.com\/stores\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">will be open with special hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sept. 1, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ttc.ca\/riding-the-ttc\/Updates\/Holiday-Service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TTC<\/a>&nbsp;will run on a holiday schedule, while&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gotransit.com\/en\/see-schedules\/holiday-schedules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GO Transit<\/a>&nbsp;will operate on a Saturday schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Garbage and recycling pickup<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be no&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toronto.ca\/services-payments\/recycling-organics-garbage\/holiday-impacts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multi-residential front-end collection<\/a>&nbsp;in Toronto on Mon. Sept. 1. Monday collection will take place on Tuesday, and Tuesday collection will happen on Wednesday. The rest of the week remains unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daytime and nighttime curbside residential collection will not be impacted by the holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All transfer stations and drop-off depots will also be closed Labour Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Government services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most municipal offices will be closed on Labour Day, but emergency services won\u2019t be affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/torontopubliclibrary.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Toronto Public Library<\/a>&nbsp;branches will close on both Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. Borrowed items can still be taken back and placed in return slots and online services, including eBooks and research databases, will still be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All banks are closed on Labour Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passport and Service Canada, and ServiceOntario offices will be closed, as well as post offices.
