We eat a lot of chocolate at this time of year and we have been trying to reduce our carbon footprint. Never thought of this. It I love it!!

“It’s that time of year again, folks! With Easter upon us, a report on Canadian’s chocolate consumption has predicted Canadians will spend close to $210 million on chocolate this Easter. That is a hell of a lot of aluminium foil that will go in the tip. Putting small pieces of foil into your recycling bin does not work, as small pieces fall through the grates at the recycling centre and go in the general rubbish. Please recycle aluminium foil! Put all those little bits of foil from chocolate eggs into an aluminium can, squash the can and recycle. Otherwise they do not get recycled, and aluminium (bauxite) mining industry is one of the most damaging and polluting in the world. Thank you!For those of you, who don’t buy cans – I usually pick one up from the side of the road on my walks. You can always find a can!For those of you who don’t buy easter eggs, you can use a can to recycle other pieces of aluminium foil, like the tops of yogurt tubs, bits of aluminium from medication blister packs etc. Please share “

Have a happy Easter long weekend everyone!
